Aperol Spritz and Campari: Italian Aperitivo

Wine and Café Life by Van Gogh

Three paintings by Vincent van Gogh bring café life into the collection. In 1887 in Paris he painted Agostina Segatori at Le Tambourin, the café she ran on the boulevard de Clichy, and a café table with a glass of absinthe; The Drinkers, from 1890, is his version of a composition by Honoré Daumier. How to Hang Cocktail Posters

Hang the center of a poster about 145 to 150 cm (57 to 59 in) from the floor, or 15 to 25 cm (6 to 10 in) above a bar cart, a sideboard or a bench seat. Above a home bar, one 50 x 70 cm (20 x 28 in) print or a pair of 30 x 40 cm (12 x 16 in) prints is usually enough. Behind a long counter, a row of three to five posters of the same size, in the same frame, looks deliberate rather than cluttered.

Walls in a bar or restaurant are seen from across the room, so think bigger: 50 x 70 cm (20 x 28 in) and 70 x 100 cm (28 x 39 in) prints read well from a distance.
