Terms of sale
TERMS OF SALE
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Article 1 – Seller
Products are sold on posterscape.com and its local versions (the “Site”) by The Object, a French simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with a share capital of €333, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 979 106 622, 54 rue de l’Amiral Roussin, 75015 Paris, France, trading as Posterscape (the “Seller”). VAT number: FR22979106622. Customer service: [email protected] or the contact form on the Site.
Article 2 – Scope
These Terms of Sale apply to every order placed on the Site by a customer, whether a consumer or a professional (the “Customer”), whatever the delivery country. The Customer accepts them before confirming the order. The applicable version is the one online on the date of the order; the Customer can save or print it.
These terms are available in several languages; in the event of a discrepancy, the French version prevails. The Shipping policy and the Refund policy published on the Site form part of these terms.
Article 3 – Products
The Site offers posters and art prints, unframed or framed (black metal, white oak or natural oak frames), poster packs, custom posters made from a photo supplied by the Customer, and gift cards (the “Products”). Their essential characteristics (size, paper, frame, price) are shown on each product page.
Every poster is printed on demand for the order by a printing partner close to the delivery address. Photos and mock-ups are for illustration only; slight colour differences between a screen and the printed poster are normal and do not make the Product non-conforming.
For a custom poster, the Customer is responsible for the photo, text and layout they choose in the editor and checks the preview before ordering. The Customer guarantees that they hold the necessary rights to this content (copyright, image rights of the people shown) and that it is lawful. The Seller may refuse or cancel, with a full refund, an order whose content appears unlawful, hateful or infringing.
Article 4 – Prices
Prices are shown in the currency of the delivery market, all taxes included (including VAT where applicable). Shipping costs, and the order amount above which shipping is free, are shown in the cart and at checkout before the order is confirmed. The price applicable is the one shown when the order is confirmed.
Prices may change at any time, but changes do not affect orders already confirmed. If import duties or local taxes apply to a destination and have not been collected at checkout, they are payable by the Customer.
Article 5 – Ordering and formation of the contract
To order, the Customer chooses the Products and their options, adds them to the cart, then enters an email address, a delivery address, a shipping method and a payment method at checkout. No customer account is required. Before confirming, the Customer can review the order summary (Products, quantities, total price, shipping costs) and correct any errors.
The contract is formed when the Customer confirms the order with an obligation to pay. An order prepared by a shopping assistant or AI agent acting on the Customer’s behalf is only placed once the Customer has reviewed and confirmed it at checkout. The Seller sends an order confirmation by email.
The Seller may refuse or cancel an order for a legitimate reason, in particular a payment problem, suspected fraud, an abnormal order or unlawful custom content; any amount paid is then refunded in full. The Seller keeps a record of orders in accordance with the law and sends a copy to the Customer on request.
Article 6 – Payment
Payment is made when the order is placed, through Shopify Payments, by bank card or by the other payment methods shown at checkout (for example Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay). Payment data is encrypted and processed by the payment provider; the Seller never has access to full card details. Gift cards can be used as a full or partial payment method.
Article 7 – Production, shipping and delivery
The Site delivers to the countries offered at checkout. Each order is printed on demand, then shipped with tracking. Estimated delivery times are shown on the product pages and in the Shipping policy; framed posters need a few extra business days. Unless otherwise agreed, the Products are delivered within thirty (30) days of the order at the latest.
The Customer must give a complete and correct delivery address; the Seller is not liable for a delay or failure of delivery caused by an incorrect address. If delivery is late, the consumer may ask the Seller to deliver within a reasonable additional period and, failing that, cancel the order and be refunded, as provided by law.
The risk of loss or damage passes to the consumer when they, or a person they designate other than the carrier, take physical possession of the Products. The Customer is asked to check the parcel on receipt and to report any damage or error to [email protected] as soon as possible, with photos; the Seller then replaces or refunds the Product at no cost to the Customer. A lost parcel is reprinted or refunded.
Article 8 – Right of withdrawal
A consumer has fourteen (14) days from receipt of the Products to withdraw from the purchase, without giving a reason. To do so, the consumer notifies the Seller of their decision by an unambiguous statement, from their customer account (“Request return”) or by email to [email protected], for example using the model form below. The Seller acknowledges receipt by email.
The consumer returns the Products, in their original condition and well protected, without undue delay and no later than fourteen (14) days after notifying the withdrawal, to the address given by the Seller (in France). The direct cost of returning the Products is borne by the consumer. The consumer is only liable for any loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the Products.
The Seller refunds all payments received, including standard delivery costs, within fourteen (14) days of being informed of the withdrawal, using the same payment method; the Seller may withhold the refund until the Products have been received back or the consumer has supplied proof of shipping, whichever comes first.
In accordance with article L.221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to custom posters, which are made to the consumer’s specifications and clearly personalised.
In addition to this legal right, the Seller offers a voluntary 30-day return period for catalogue posters, under the conditions of the Refund policy.
Model withdrawal form (to be completed and sent only if you wish to withdraw from the contract): To The Object – Posterscape, 54 rue de l’Amiral Roussin, 75015 Paris, France, [email protected]: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the sale of the following goods: [order number and Products]. Ordered on [date] / received on [date]. Name of consumer. Address of consumer. Signature of consumer (only if this form is sent on paper). Date.
Article 9 – Legal guarantees
Independently of the voluntary return policy, the Products benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L.217-1 to L.217-32 of the French Consumer Code) and from the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code). To use them, the Customer contacts [email protected] with the order number and, if possible, photos.
The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to obtain the application of the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer only has to establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it appeared.
The legal guarantee of conformity entails the right to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of the request, free of charge and without major inconvenience for the consumer.
The consumer may obtain a reduction of the purchase price while keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and obtain a full refund against return of the goods, if: (1) the seller refuses to repair or replace the goods; (2) the repair or replacement takes place after a period of thirty days; (3) the repair or replacement causes a major inconvenience for the consumer, in particular when the consumer definitively bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the costs of installing the repaired or replacement goods; (4) the lack of conformity persists despite the seller’s unsuccessful attempt to bring the goods into conformity.
The consumer is also entitled to a price reduction or to termination of the contract when the lack of conformity is so serious that an immediate price reduction or termination is justified; the consumer is then not required to ask for repair or replacement first. The consumer is not entitled to terminate the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period during which the goods are immobilised for repair or replacement suspends the remaining guarantee period until the repaired goods are delivered. These rights result from articles L.217-1 to L.217-32 of the French Consumer Code. A seller who obstructs in bad faith the application of the legal guarantee of conformity incurs a civil fine of up to €300,000, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (article L.241-5 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for two years from discovery of the defect. This guarantee gives the right to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or to a full refund against return of the goods.
Article 10 – Customer service and complaints
For any question or complaint, the Customer can write to [email protected] or use the contact form on the Site, giving the order number. The Seller does its best to reply within a few business days and to find an amicable solution.
Article 11 – Intellectual property
The artworks, texts, images and logos on the Site are protected by intellectual property law. Buying a poster transfers ownership of the printed object only, not any right to reproduce the artwork.
Article 12 – Personal data
Personal data collected for orders are processed as described in the Privacy Policy, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Photos uploaded for custom posters are used only to produce the order and are deleted after six months.
Article 13 – Applicable law and disputes
These Terms of Sale are governed by French law. A consumer residing in another country also keeps the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence. In the event of a dispute, the Customer should first contact customer service to look for an amicable solution; failing that, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts in accordance with the applicable rules.
