Get close enough and a building becomes a landscape.
This tight shot shows a jumble of concrete beams and blocks, stacked and interlocked. Their surfaces are marked by moss, rain streaks and the small round holes left by the formwork. Some edges are crisp, others have crumbled slightly. The light is soft, so every texture comes out.
It is a wonderful image for texture lovers. There is no sky, no context, just material. We think of it as a portrait of concrete itself, with all its wrinkles.
Use it in a modern living room, a bathroom or an office to add a mineral touch. It works well next to plants and wooden furniture. The poster comes in several sizes.
It belongs to the close-up series of our brutalist wall art collection, alongside walls and facades seen at short distance.
Why did architects love to leave concrete raw and unfinished? Discover the answer in our article on the origins of brutalism.
