Sun, pillar, shadow. Sun, pillar, shadow. All the way to the end.
A long corridor of square concrete columns stretches into the distance. On the right, the sun slips between them and lays bright rectangles on the floor. On the left, the space stays dark. A few doors and frames appear deep inside.
The repetition creates a hypnotic rhythm, and the perspective draws you into the image. It is a quiet, contemplative scene, the kind you might find in a school, a museum or a public building on a Sunday afternoon.
We think of it for a hallway, a home office or a bedroom. The vertical format reinforces the depth. Available in several sizes.
Colonnades and covered walkways were everywhere in brutalist architecture. You will find more of them in our brutalism wall art collection. Want to understand how these buildings were meant to be used? Read our history of brutalist architecture.
