This one has the feel of an old archive print, and that is exactly why we chose it.
A blocky building sits on a dark lawn, its walls covered with a checkerboard of textured panels. Above it, storm clouds pile up and swallow most of the sky. A few cars from another era are parked at the entrance. Someone even scribbled "TOP" in the corner of the original photo, a little note left by whoever handled it before us. We decided to keep it.
The grain, the heavy shadows and the slightly dramatic lighting give it a cinematic edge. It looks like the opening shot of a 1960s film about a secret research lab.
In a study, a library corner or a modern living room, it adds history and a bit of mystery. The poster is available in several sizes.
See how it pairs with more recent shots in our collection of brutalist architecture posters. And if this era fascinates you, our article on the origins of brutalism goes back to the very beginning.
