Our most dramatic piece? Quite possibly.
Seen from the foot of the building, a cross-shaped tower shoots straight up into a pitch black sky. Its four wings are lit from below, so the concrete shines silver against the darkness. At the very top, a crown of coffered concrete boxes sits like a hat. Every line pulls your eye toward that point.
Brutalist architects loved this kind of sculptural tower, where structure and decoration are the same thing. Nothing here is hidden, nothing is painted. The board marks of the formwork are still visible on the concrete.
It is a bold image for a bold wall: a home office, an entrance, a dark painted room. The poster is printed in several sizes, and a black frame makes it look even sharper.
