A road, a white fence, a few palm trees in the distance. And this dark, unfinished silhouette.
The building stands along the roadside, its open floors and empty frames giving it the look of a ruin, or of a project that was never completed. The sky above is pale and washed out, which makes the concrete look almost black. Nobody is around.
There is something cinematic about it, like the opening of a road movie. We love the tension between the ordinary scene (a road, a sidewalk) and this strange, heavy structure sitting next to it.
It is one of the more mysterious images of our brutalist poster collection, and the vertical format with lots of sky gives it a peaceful, open feel despite the subject.
A good fit for a hallway, a bedroom or an office. The poster comes in several sizes.
Many brutalist buildings around the world were abandoned or left unfinished, and some were later rescued. Discover their unexpected comeback.
