Square poster, square windows, square everything.
The corner of this building is wrapped in a dense grid of deep concrete frames. Each window is set back in its own box, so the facade becomes a honeycomb of light edges and dark hollows. The corner in the middle folds the grid in two, creating a subtle 3D effect.
It is the second square format of our brutalist architecture collection, and a natural partner for the banded office tower. Hung side by side, the two make a strong pair.
The repetition is soothing, the contrast is crisp, and the format makes it easy to place: above a bedside table, on a shelf, in a gallery wall. Available in several sizes.
These deep window frames were not just decorative. They shaded the interiors and gave the facades their characteristic depth. Read our article to learn how brutalism combined function and form.
