The building runs out of the frame on the left. The sky takes over on the right. In between, a facade made of deep concrete loggias recedes in perspective, each balcony framed like a little stage.
We love how the light behaves here. The front edges of the concrete are almost white, the inside of each loggia drops into shade, and the railings draw thin lines across the whole thing. A soft cloud sits at the bottom corner, the only round shape in a world of right angles.
This is the kind of housing Le Corbusier and his followers imagined after the war: big slabs of concrete, but with outdoor space for every family. Our brutalism poster collection has several of these grand facades, each with its own mood.
The vertical format works well in a narrow space, next to a bookshelf or at the end of a hallway. It comes in several sizes, so pick the one that fits your wall. For the backstory of these housing machines, take a walk through the history of brutalist architecture.
