The three lagoons of Matisse’s book Jazz, together in one set: The Lagoon in Blue and Coral, The Lagoon in Green and The Lagoon in Pink and White. This set brings them together as 3 art prints, at 20% off the price of the three posters bought separately.
Jazz, published in 1947, is the book in which Matisse turned to paper cut-outs: shapes cut with scissors from sheets he had painted with gouache, then printed as color plates. Three of its plates are lagoons, a memory of the coral lagoons he had discovered in Tahiti in 1930. Seaweed, coral and waves become free, dancing shapes, in a different palette each time. Hung in a row, the three plates form a joyful frieze, perfect above a sofa, a bed or in a bathroom.
