Look straight up from the foot of this building and the balconies become a staircase for giants.
Thick concrete slabs pile on top of each other, each one jutting out at an angle, each one casting a dark band of shadow on the next. To the left, a flatter tower with small windows. To the right, another wing that fades into the white sky. The perspective gives the whole scene a slight sense of vertigo.
We like the honesty of it. No decoration, no cladding, nothing pretending to be something else. Just the structure, shown exactly as it is. That is the core idea behind the pieces in our brutalist architecture collection.
The wide format and soft grays make it easy to live with. A study, a hallway, a staircase wall would all suit it. Several sizes are available.
If you want to understand why architects thought this was beautiful, and why many people now agree, read our article on brutalism and raw concrete.
