Two rounded towers, side by side, like a pair of lighthouses.
Their curved corners are clad in small tiles that catch the light, and at the top each tower carries a boxy, glazed balcony. Below, rows of windows and loggias go down floor after floor. The sky behind is black, which makes the buildings stand out sharply.
This image has a very graphic, almost poster-like quality. The light shapes on a dark background make it readable from far away, and the repetition of the two towers gives it a pleasing rhythm.
Late Soviet housing often played with rounded corners and decorative cladding to soften the giant blocks. It is a less known side of the story, and one we wanted in our brutalist architecture posters.
The 4:5 format suits a desk wall, a bedroom or a dining room. Available in several sizes.
