One subject, three moods: the olive groves Van Gogh painted around Saint-Rémy in 1889. This set brings together Olive Trees, Olive Grove with Orange Sky and The Olive Trees as 3 art prints, at 20% off the price of the three posters bought separately.
During his year at the asylum, Van Gogh painted about fifteen canvases of olive groves. He loved their twisted trunks and their silvery leaves, which change color with the light and the season. In the first painting the mistral blows through the trees under a churning gray sky. In the second, the sky turns yellow and orange, the ground burns red and the shadows fall in pure blue. In the third, painted in June 1889 like The Starry Night, the trees writhe in front of the blue hills of the Alpilles under one huge swirling cloud. Hung in a row, the three canvases read like the same grove at different hours of the day.
