An empty road leads straight to a concrete monument with outstretched wings.
The structure looks like a giant bird, or a winged emblem, resting on a single pillar. At its center, a round glass element divided into segments catches the light. On both sides, green hills frame the scene, and a dramatic cloudy sky fills the top half.
Monuments like this, called spomeniks, were built across the former Yugoslavia to commemorate the Second World War. Their abstract, futuristic shapes still fascinate visitors and photographers today.
We chose this image for its strong symmetry and its sense of journey. It invites you to walk down the road and discover the monument up close.
In a living room, an office or an entrance, the landscape poster adds a touch of adventure. Several sizes are available.
Spomeniks are a fascinating chapter of our brutalist poster collection. To learn more, read our article on brutalism around the world, including these Balkan memorials.
