Living Room Wall Art & Posters

Living Room Posters by Style, Size and Frame

Museum Pieces for a Warm Living Room

Many of our best-selling living room posters are reproductions of old masterpieces. The Roman frescoes of Pompeii and Stabiae, like Flora walking through her green garden, bring color to a neutral wall without making it feel busy; our article on Pompeii's frescoes explains why they sit so well in a modern home. Matisse prints such as Le Bonheur de vivre or The Red Studio add warmth, and Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights gives a large wall something to look at for years.

Calm Abstracts, Landscapes and Botanicals

If the living room is where you unwind, softer subjects work best: abstract art prints in earth tones or blue, mountain and countryside landscapes like the Pyrenees or the Alps, and botanical prints. They sit easily next to wood, linen and plants.

Graphic Prints for a Modern Living Room

For a sharper, contemporary look, choose brutalist architecture, Bauhaus compositions or minimalist posters. Black and white or a single strong color suits a pared-back room, especially in a black metal frame. To see which styles are gaining ground this year, read our wall art trends for 2026.

Which Size for Which Wall?

• Above a sofa: one large print in 70 x 100 cm (28 x 39 in) or 100 x 70 cm (39 x 28 in), or two 50 x 70 cm (20 x 28 in) prints side by side.
• Above a console, sideboard or fireplace: one 50 x 70 cm (20 x 28 in) print, or a pair of 30 x 40 cm (12 x 16 in).
• Between two windows or in an alcove: a single portrait poster, 40 x 50 cm (16 x 20 in) or 50 x 70 cm (20 x 28 in).
• Gallery wall: mix two or three sizes and keep the same frame finish throughout.

As a rule of thumb, the art should cover about two-thirds of the width of the furniture below it. Our guide to choosing wall art for your living room covers scale, hanging height and color in more detail.

Frames, Paper and Custom Sizes

Every poster is printed on museum-grade paper. Framed posters arrive assembled behind shatterproof plexiglass, in black metal, white oak or natural oak, ready to hang: you only pay for the frame, the framing itself is free.
